• Sylvamix Hanging Basket contains enough base fertilizer for the first few weeks only and best results will be obtained by liquid feeding or the addition of controlled release fertilizers. Such supplementary fertilizers should be applied at the manufacturers’ recommended rates for peat-based media. • No changes to normal nursery practice are required
Crop Management No particular changes to normal crop management are required. However water distribution within the medium may differ slightly to peat-based mixes so care with watering is advised at first.
Pesticides: where Sylvamix is supplied containing pesticide, (which will only ever be at the customers’ request), it is essential that the users of the product are made aware that pesticide has been incorporated, and that the full safety and handling instructions have been made available to users. There may also be restrictions on the storage period once pesticide is incorporated into the Sylvamix. Melcourt will advise the customer where this is the case, together with a link to the relevant Product Safety Data sheets.
Storage: Melcourt Sylvamix Growing Media should always be stored carefully in clean, dry, cool conditions away from any potential contaminants and direct sunlight. Avoid conditions which allow the product to become dry and dusty and if this occurs use suitable dust protection.
Sylvamix growing media can safely be stored for up to six months under suitable conditions, unless they have been supplied with controlled release fertilizers in which case they must be used within 21 days from purchase.
