We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Melcourt director Steve Green after a short illness. Steve was Company Secretary for sawmillers Charles Ransfords & Sons Ltd who are one of Melcourt’s major shareholders.
Steve was held in the highest regard by colleagues at the sawmill, at Melcourt and in the local area, and was universally respected throughout the forestry and sawmilling sector. At Ransfords, Steve was seen as the glue which held everything together over his 50 years there and he was a much-valued member of the Melcourt Board of Directors. He was 67 and is survived by his wife Michelle, five adult children and eight grandchildren.
