We were delighted to welcome MP for the Cotswolds Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown to unveil our new Royal Warrant plaque on Friday 1st March. Melcourt was awarded a Royal Warrant from HRH the Prince of Wales for the supply of peat-free organic growing media last year and Friday’s unveiling by Sir Geoffrey was a fitting celebration.
In front of assembled staff Managing Director Andy Chalmers welcomed Sir Geoffrey and gave a short resume of the journey that has brought the company to this very successful point. ‘We are delighted to be able to celebrate, with Sir Geoffrey’s help, the milestone that being awarded the Royal Warrant represents,’ he said.
Sir Geoffrey replied, ‘ I am delighted to have been invited to perform the task of unveiling Melcourt’s new Royal Warrant name board. The award of the Warrant is testimony to the hard work and many achievements of this wonderfully successful company.’
Following the unveiling Sir Geoffrey was taken on our tour of the production facilities and shown significant recent investments including an upgraded compost mixing line, a new packaging line and a large new concrete storage area.
