If you’re buying plants when you visit National Trust properties at Charlecote, Hidcote, Ickworth, Nymans, or Polesden Lacey this week-end you can now buy 15L carry packs of award-winning SylvaGrow multi purpose peat free compost to take home with you.
It has been National Trust policy for some time to avoid using peat in its gardens and when it sources plants for sale at its properties it has a peat-free policy with regard to its nursery suppliers. Now visitors can extend the chain of peat-free virtue by taking home a growing medium in which they can be confident their plants will thrive – given, of course, a greenish finger or two and the right amount of TLC.
