We were delighted once again to sponsor the 5th Kettering Scout Group this year. For many years now we have supplied them with enough SylvaGrow Multi-Purpose to raise hundreds of plants which they recently sold at their annual Plant Sale.
Vicky Geary, Assistant Beaver Leader & the Plant Sale organiser said, “We had lots of lovely visitors who were very happy with their purchases. We also had lots of happy Scouting and parent volunteers to help sell on the day and we raised a fantastic £1600! We are so pleased and planning for next year already.”
“The 5th Kettering Group took the Cubs & Scouts away on an exciting water camp 2 weeks ago. Now off to District Beaver Camp this weekend. These are the events our young people need to help develop their confidence and abilities. None of this would be an option without the fundraising monies from Plant Sale, especially the purchase of some new tents so Melcourt’s ongoing support is fantastic and so much appreciated.”
Melcourt’s Managing Director Andy Chalmers, himself a Queen’s Scout back in the day said, “I know from my extensive time in the boy scouts many years ago, that all money raised will be put to extremely good use. In my days, we did jumble sales, Xmas bazaars, collecting and selling old newspapers, gang shows not to forget the renowned ‘bob-a-job’!! Very well done to all concerned – we will be very pleased to help you again.”
