5th Kettering Scouts more than prepared for plant sale success

We were delighted to hear from Vicky Geary of the 5th Kettering Scout Group that their Plant Sale, held on 26th May and  to which we’d donated some SylvaGrow® in which to grow the plants, was the best ever. “Beautiful healthy plants, which were eagerly bought by our friends, family and members of the local community. We had people queuing from 9.15am and we didn’t open until 10am!” reports Vicky. “Our final total for takings was £2,389.75, a superb result.”

The money raised will go towards the purchase of a new mess tent just in time for our Scouts who are off to Jamboree in Norfolk in August. “Thank you again for your support,” says Vicky.

Our decision to help the Scouts on this occasion was influenced in no small part by the fact that Andy Chalmers our Managing Director, was himself a cub from the age of 6 and finished as Troop leader, 10th Swindon Scout Group, as a Queen’s Scout. “I owe scouting a great debt,” says Andy. “They were formative years in which I learned a huge amount about working with people. I wish the 5th Kettering and all scouts the very best for their future.”
